The Ministry of Environmental Protection has given approval to the company
Serbia Zijin Copper doo Bor for the Study of the environmental impact assessment of the project of increasing the capacities of the flotation processing of dry ore to 23.1 Mt a year at the open-pit mine Veliki Krivelj in Bor.
The study was prepared by the Bor Institute for Mining and Metallurgy.
The commercial product of this project is flotation copper concentrate, and the estimated average annual production of the copper concentrate is 310,692 tons, that is, 56,058 tons of copper in the concentrate.
Zijin submitted the request for deciding on the necessity of the environmental impact assessment of this project
in November 2021.
The value of the construction of the new flotation is USD 57.8 million. It will operate with a capacity of 13.2 Mt, parallel with and independent of the existing one, whose capacity is 9.9 Mt of dry ore, and it will be built close to the existing one.
