The implementation of the pilot project “DIMAK Hotspots”, within which six units are established in the towns-municipalities in which Migration Service Centers of the National Employment Service are located, namely, Novi Sad, Nis, Bor, Krusevac, Kraljevo and Novi Pazar, has started within the German Information Center for Migration, Training and Career (DIMAK).
DIMAK is part of a wider initiative of the German government called “Returning to New Opportunities”, which is carried out in Serbia by the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH, as part of the Program Migration for Development (PME).
Through consulting, informing and pointing to concrete measures of free support offered by DIMAK itself, as well as DIMAK’s numerous partner organizations, support is provided to returnees from Germany and third countries, as well as the local populace, in the field of social and economic (re)integration. Also, DIMAK informs and advises on the possibilities of a regular migration to Germany, but also the risks of irregular migrations.
Furthermore, technical and administrative support can be provided to the clients in administrative procedures for registering a stay/residency, obtaining ID cards and health insurance cards.
In addition to said services, hotspot units aim to establish cooperation between the relevant actors on the local level that are in direct contact with the returnees and socially vulnerable groups to the end of providing a multisector approach in providing help to the clients.
