The wave of the increase in the prices of banking services continues, and the banks which didn’t adjust their price lists last year, when most banks considerably increased their tariffs and fees, have done so now, as reported by the Vecernje Novosti daily.

The fees for account maintenance, card maintenance, ATM withdrawals, mobile and electronic banking, checks and other packages they offer will increase by up to over 200% at certain financial institutions this summer, the daily reports.

The increase in the prices of banking services is explained by investments in modernization and digitization.

Many account owners at banks have started getting notification about the new tariffs which apply from August 1.

According to the secretary general of the Association of Serbian Banks, Vladimir Vasic, banks do not have a certain period for the changing of their price lists, but do so in line with their estimates and costs.

– The crisis which has affected the whole world and had an impact on all life segments couldn’t bypass the banking sector either – said Vasic.
