Vucic: There’s Enough Sugar, Serbia to Protect Its Price Regardless of the Packaging

The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced last night in Davos that, from the next day, Serbia would protect the price of sugar, regardless of the quantity, and said that Serbia had enough of it.

Regarding the sugar shortages in stores, he said that, in Serbia, the price of sugar in a 1-kg packaging was protected and that, therefore, those who worked with sugar, such as beekeepers or distillers, agreed with their managers to buy larger quantities of that cheaper sugar, due to which the price of sugar would be protected regardless of the packaging.

– We have talked to the owners of two sugar plants and 20 store chains and I believe that it will all be alright – Vucic told the Serbian media in Davos.
