Let Every Day Be Safe – Employee Training for Workplace Safety at Strauss Adriatic

Operating in line with the postulates of the company Strauss Coffee, of which it is a member, Strauss Adriatic continuously invests in its staff, supporting quality work conditions, development possibilities, health support, openness and transparency, inclusion in CSR activities of significance, providing daily education, investing in various programs and a multidisciplinary approach to employees. It has launched a large number of initiatives of crucial importance for employee safety, one of which is “Let Every Day Be Safe” (“Svaki dan bezbeDAN”).

This activation is of an educational character and is organized for the first time at Strauss Adriatic. The idea is to provide the employees with additional training which concerns workplace safety, and as the initiative has been met with an extremely positive response by the employees, the plan is for the event to be held each year, with the tendency of enriching the content through various innovations.

The employees got additional education in three fields: traffic safety, first aid and fire protection.

1. Traffic safety is realized together with the Agency for Traffic Safety through a theoretical part, and then also through a practical part, with a demonstration of a sudden braking and the car flipping over on simulators.

2. First aid is realized with the partner for health checkups, Vizim, through theoretical and practical parts.

3. Fire protection is organized internally, and the realization was successfully carried out by Tanja Zigin, a safety engineer at the company. Following the training, the employees had a demonstration exercise.

Ivana Canic, HR Manager at Strauss Adriatic, pointed out how important an event of that kind was for them:

– Our wish was to organize informal socializing for all employees, but with the purpose of education about an extremely important topic and I believe that that’s what we got. Also, this is of great importance for us all at the company, because this event was the first gathering of all the employees since the beginning of the pandemic. I am extremely glad that the comments of the employees were positive and that they have expressed the desire and the will for this initiative to continue. They showed this through numerous suggestions how to further upgrade the whole idea.

This is not the only type of care for safety of this company, but it is the first of this kind. Strauss Adriatic fosters care for workplace health and safety in a special way, as shown by the certificate it owns, ISO 45001, which pertains to the fact that the company has introduced and implemented a system of workplace health and safety management.

Strauss Adriatic sees its programs as an integral part of investing in education and care for its employees.
