Construction of New Smoki Factory in Belgrade Announced – Belgrade Arena and Atlantic Stark Announce Cooperation

The deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, attended the signing of the agreement on the extension of the cooperation of Arena and Atlantic Stark and on that occasion announced the new investment of Atlantic Grupa in Belgrade – a Smoki factory.

The agreement was signed by Goran Grbovic, the director of Arena, and Neven Vrankovic, the vice-president of Atlantic Grupa for corporate affairs, and the event was attended by Emil Tedeschi, the president of the Management of Atlantic Grupa, Zoran Daljevic, the director of the Atlantic Grupa office for Serbia, and Marko Njavro, the general manager at Atlantic Stark.

On that occasion, Vesic thanked the company because it had at no point stopped cooperating with Arena, even when the facility had been in the Covid system. Due to this, there was no dilemma about signing the extension of the cooperation, Vesic estimated.

– The company has always been with Arena, even when times were difficult, so it is a reliable and good partner to Belgrade and we are grateful to them for investing in our country. We hope that they will invest even more. I especially want to thank them for building a new factory in Belgrade and that it will be a Smoki factory. It is a Serbian brand, and thanks to Atlantic Grupa, which is a powerful regional company, Smoki is a brand of the Balkans and the region. We will back them, just like we back each investor, because we want to help them realize their investments as soon as possible – Vesic said.

The deputy mayor also pointed to the connections between the two nations and pointed out that we should keep cooperating and creating additional value.

– With the expansion of the cooperation with Arena and the construction of a new factory, the company shows that it remains dedicated to Belgrade, which is what’s most important to us – Vesic said.

Emil Tedeschi pointed out that the signing of the agreement was very important and reminded that Stark was originally a Serbian brand and that it had been owned by Atlantic Grupa since 2010.

– Today, Stark’s products are exported to 40 countries of the world, and Smoki will also get a new factory in Peka Dapcevica Street. Stark is a brand that is developing very well and expanding to the markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland and I believe that with this kind of support of the City of Belgrade and the Republic of Serbia, we will complete this urgent investment. Concluding with 2025, from 2020, the total capital investments of our company will amount to over EUR 80 million, and so far, we have invested nearly a half of that sum. Our bonding with the most important sports and entertainment facility, Stark Arena, is not accidental, because the most important sports events take place in that arena. During Covid, it had a different purpose, primarily for the preservation of people’s health, and that is our priority as well, because we are the biggest corporate donor with over EUR 5 million. We have also donated in countries of the region and we are proud of that, because, even in the time of Covid, we ensured full employment and paid the biggest dividend to the shareholders. We support the local community and we bring back one part of the profit to the community, which is a good message to others as well to be socially responsible. I believe in cooperation, shared cultural and human values, peace and honoring differences, because we have a joint future, and through business, sports, culture, entertainment, humanitarian work, we can say that we are ambassadors of peace and creating perspectives for the future generations – Tedeschi said.
