The Serbian government adopted today the Decision on temporary restriction of export of basic agri-food products in order to successfully respond to the danger of market disturbances caused by a considerable growth in demand on the world and local markets.

To that end, the government decided to introduce quantitative restrictions on the export of wheat, wheat flour, corn, groat and sunflower oil on a monthly basis and for a specific period of time, as announced on the government’s website.

The prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, previously said on RTS that the government would address all the demands of the Association Serbian Grains.

– We are having talks with them, as soon as next Tuesday, I’ll have a meeting with them to see what kind of problems they have in transport – the prime minister announced.

The Government of Serbia previously adopted the decision on a temporary ban on the export of basic agri-food products.
