The CIP Institute of Transportation from Belgrade will be in charge of preparing the technical documentation for the construction of the pedestrian-cycling bridge on the Danube in Novi Sad.

As the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, announced on his Instagram profile, the signed agreement is worth RSD 51.8 million, and the deadline period for the completion of all the obligations under the contract is 180 days.

Along with the bridge, which is to be raised on the columns of the former Franz Joseph Bridge, the plan also includes access road areas and the reconstruction of the existing tunnel with elevators to the upper plaza of the Petrovaradin Fortress.

– I have great news for all lovers of ecology, cycling and nature, which is that Novi Sad is soon getting its fifth bridge, the pedestrian-cycling bridge on the Danube. The new bridge will reduce pollution in the city and additionally motivate my fellow citizens to exercise – Vucevic said.

Let us remind that the tender was published in December 2021, and the first prize for the preliminary design was awarded back in late 2019.
