The City of Nis has put up for a repeated public review the draft Detailed Regulation Plan of Banja Topilo, in the City Municipality of Crveni Krst.
As eKapija reported when the plan was up for a public review a year and a half ago, the city authorities are determined to turn this unused spa pearl in Nis, only 25 kilometers from the city, into a new tourist attraction.
According to the plan prepared by JP Zavod za urbanizam Nis, in Banja Topilo, the plan is to build and adapt a health-tourism complex, sports and commercial features, an ecological camp and a medicinal mud reserve, as well as to develop a spa park.
The spa park, which is the central part of Banja Topilo and within which the natural ecosystem of the Toponicka Reka gorge is protected and fostered, will be developed and function as an outdoor treatment facility, and it will also serve for research and education.
A range of pedestrian, cycling and trim tracks, with places for rest and gatherings, especially in the zone of the Toponicka Reka, is planned as well.
An underground spring and two thermal mineral water springs have been detected within the spa park, and it is assumed that, in the area of the entire spa, there are around 18 springs whose locations, the plan says, will be determined following the exploration works.
