DP World Novi Sad has successfully completed the testing of the first container shipment on the Danube between the ports of Novi Sad in Serbia and Constanta in Romania. The first ship, “Vigilla”, transported over 50 containers to the Port of Novi Sad last weekend, where the goods were quickly and successfully loaded onto trucks for the delivery to end customers, the company says in a press release.

This is the first step toward the establishment of the new DP World Novi Sad service, which will secure a safer and simpler ecological transport of goods for the customers.

DP World, a leading provider of smart logistics solutions in the world, became the owner of the Port of Novi Sad in May 2019 and obliged to invest EUR 35 million in a range of extensions and development, such as the new service of the transport on the Danube to the Port of Constanta.

The company is also building a new container terminal at the port, which includes the construction of new silos for the storage of goods, the reconstruction of roads and the expansion of the vertical dock.

In May 2021, DP World Novi Sad opened the renewed passenger terminal in Novi Sad, following a renovation worth EUR 500,000. It offers modern facilities and the equipment necessary for the docking of all types of vessels.
