Hungarian UBM Group Starts Building Animal Feed Factory Near Sid
The factory will be on an area of 20 hectares and encompass facilities for the production of animal feed and the storage of raw materials and finished products.
The laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the factory in Adasevci was attended by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the minister of foreign affairs and trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, and the minister of agriculture of Serbia, Branislav Nedimovic, representatives of UBM Group and representatives of the Provincial Government.
Vucic said that there were more and more Hungarian investors in Serbia and that, in the preceding 10 years, the trade between Serbia and Hungary had increased two and a half times.
The president of UBM Group, Peter Horvath, said that the company’s goal was to expand the business and to be the most successful company in the region in the field of production of animal feed.
He said that the new investment of UBM Group had been supported by the governments of Hungary and Serbia, with EUR 6.3 million and EUR 2.2 million.
Peter Szijjarto said that the relations between Hungary and Serbia were an example of a successful cooperation and that he was proud that Hungarian investments are contributing to the development of the Serbian economy.
In addition to Hungary, UBM Group operates in another 10 countries, employs 430 people, and its income in 2021 amounted to EUR 515 million.
