Atanackovic: Potential Fuel Shortages at Gas Stations if Margins Are Not Increased
He told Beta that private owners of gas stations mostly purchased oil products from Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) and the company MOL and that NIS had limited the deliveries per one transaction a day at 1,000 liters of fuel the day before.
– A new price with the next delivery has been announced at NIS and that will mean that the purchase and sales prices will equalize and that gas station owners will no longer earn anything, so it remains to be seen whether they will even get fuel – said Atanackovic, who also owns gas stations.
He added that one potential solution would be to allow a limited margin.
The decree on the limiting of fuel prices, which the Government of Serbia adopted on February 10, expires on March 10.
The decree proscribes that the maximum retail prices of oil products Euro Diesel and Euro Premium BMB 95 are RSD 179 (EUR 1.5) and RSD 171 (around EUR 1.4) per liter, respectively. The Government of Serbia adopted said degree in order to prevent greater disturbances and preserve the living standard of the populace.
