Industrial Production in Serbia in January 2022 Lower by 2.6% Compared to January 2021 – Energy Underperforms
In January 2022, industrial production was lower by 12.3%, compared to the average of the 2021. Observed by sections, in January 2022, compared to January 2021, industrial production in the mining and quarrying section increased by 30.6%, while industrial production in manufacturing section was decreased by 0.8%, and the production in the section for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply was decreased by 18.7%.
The scope of industrial production in January 2022, compared to the same month of 2021 decreased in 13 areas whose share in the total industrial production is 59% and increased in 16 areas which comprise 41% of the total industrial production.
In January 2022, compared to January 2021, the biggest impact on the drop of industrial production was recorded in: Energy, Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, Mining of coal and lignite, Manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture, and Manufacture of electrical equipment.
