City of Nis officially became owner of land of military complex at Nis airport and Bubanjski Heroji barracks

After eight years, the procedure of exchange of properties between the City of Nis and the Ministry of Defense has finally been finished. That means that the City of Nis has officially become the owner of the land of the military complex at the airport in Nis and Bubanjski Heroji barracks. The agreement on the transfer of the rights of use of the real estate owned by the state was signed on Friday (October 22, 2010) in the City Hall by Nis Mayor Milos Simonovic and Director of the Republic Directorate for Property Bratislav Pejkovic. The Government's conclusion about the property exchange was verified in that way.
At the regular meeting, the Government of Serbia has adopted the conclusion about the exchange of properties between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia and the City of Nis, by which the ownership of 170 ha of land of the military complex at the Nis Airport is transferred to the City, as well as the ownership of 15 ha of land within the complex of Bubanjski Heroji barracks.
On the other hand, the City of Nis is bound by the conclusion to allot 32 apartments in Majakovski Street to the Army of the Republic of Serbia, as well as 21% of the gross residential area that will be built in the location of Bubanjski Heroji. The city is also obliged to expropriate 175 ha of land in the location of Gornji Komren for the needs of formation of future military base Komren.
