The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) has estimated that the economic growth of 23 countries of central, eastern and southeastern Europe in 2022 will amount to 3.2%, and that the drop compared to last year can mostly be ascribed to weaker projections for the two biggest economies of the observed region – Russia and Turkey.

In its most recent winter prognosis for 2022, wiiw also projects a slightly lower growth (4.9%) for Serbia compared to 2021, but still one of the highest in the region and slightly better than the prognosis of 4.6% made in the autumn.
