“Grand“ invests and changes “Štark“

“Štark”, our famous manufacturer of confectioneries, is in the majority ownership of “Grand kafa” since July 2005.

During the last 5-6 months, “Štark” introduced electronic working hours record keeping. Also, new computer equipment has been bought, the new information system MIS 3 is being introduced, the new organization has been carried out, the investment in procurement of equipment has started… The Administrative Board has recently adopted the Business Plan for year 2006 whose main clauses are: production and sale of 20,000 tons of confectioneries, total incomes at the level of €51.5m and export of 25% of total sales. The Administrative Board has announced procurement of machine for packing of chocolate bananas. It is the investment worth €2m. The line should be put into operation before the annual leaves, in mid-2006. There is interesting conclusion related to famous “cherry” candy boxes. It is said that their production has nothing but losses, i.e. that it does not make sense to export these candy boxes at low price and that they can not be found on the domestic market whose demand for them is big in spite of higher price. “Štark” decided to close unit “Komovi” in Andrijevica, as well as the office of “Štark” in Skopje, due to non-profitable results. The status of the employees in Andrijevica will be solved by means of social program, whereas the status of the employees in Skopje will be settled by transfer to Skopje-based “Droga Kolinska” whose founder is “Grand prom”. Some of the products from the unit in Andrijevica, which already have its place on the market, such as “žele zeka”, will be produced in Belgrade.
