This is What the New Children’s Hospital Tirsova 2 in Belgrade, Which Will Spread on Over 60,000 m2, Will Look Like

The construction of the new university children’s hospital Tirsova 2 began in October in Belgrade, and the works are expected to be completed by 2024.

The job on the first phase of the facility with four underground levels, two basement levels, the ground floor, the crawl space and four floors has been entrusted to the companies Novkol, Sky Technologies, WD Concord West and Srbijaautoput, and the value of the works is EUR 6.23 million (without the VAT). The job entails preparatory works on the development of the construction site. As said, the first phase of the works will take 210 days.

The complex will encompass more than 60,000 m2, of which 30,000 m2 is meant for the medical space with eight state-of-the-art operating rooms and 36 intensive care beds. The complex is designed for a total of 286 hospital beds, which will be distributed across 154 rooms. The construction of a garage with over 520 parking spaces is also planned.

The hospital will have direct access from the highway.

The designer of the new hospital is architect Dragana Mecanov of Bexel Consulting d.o.o., the Office for Public Investment Management told eKapija.

According to the Gradnja website, in designing the façade, care was taken to shape the space to suit children’s psychology and imagination. The applied proportions at the University Children’s Clinic (UDK) pay homage to Milan Zlokovic, the author of the UDK building in Tirsova Street.

In daylight, the building’s prominent features are its volume and white color, whereas, at nighttime, it resembles a paper lantern. This makes it a highlight in its part of the city and the E-75 highway, which provides a view to it.

Let us remind that Tirsova 2 is being built in the contact area of the Clinical Center of Serbia, in close proximity to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic Visegradska and the existing children’s clinic Tirsova 1.
