The plan is for the future institute complex, which will, in addition to large grapevine areas, also encompass newly raised working buildings, to serve as a modern basis for the future development of Serbian winemaking and viticulture, with the aim of improving the production of grapes and wine in Serbia, but also the entire region, whereby the institute would become the most important institution in that field in these areas and Sremski Karlovci the center of winemaking in the country and the surrounding area.
The institute will act in several fields: through education and informing of modern trends in winemaking, meant for both producers and faculty students, through gathering all the interested parties when it comes to winemaking and viticulture, as well as through expert-scientific and research activities, which will be accompanied by the equipping of this institute with the most modern technology available to science workers and viticulturists.
According to the urban project, whose price of preparation is RSD 755,790, a framework area for the complex of the Institute for Fruit Farming and Viticulture of 0.7 hectares is encompassed.
The deadline for the preparation of the urban project is 45 work days from the date of getting all the necessary requirements from the authorized organs, organizations and companies, as well the submitting of all the necessary documents by the investor, that is, the Municipality of Sremski Karlovci.
