Draft Law on Protection of Consumers forwarded to Parliament for urgent consideration

Serbian Government adopted at the yesterday's meeting the Draft Law on Protection of Consumers and forwarded it to the Parliament of Serbia for urgent consideration.

The new Law on Protection of Consumers, of which application will commence on January 1, 2011, introduces the key European directives from this field and establishes a legal framework enabling the protection of consumers in Serbia according to European standards.

At the yesterday's meeting, the Government also adopted the Draft Law on Navigation and Ports on Internal Waterways, the Draft Law on Dangerous Waste Transport, as well as the Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Strategic Estimate of Influence on Environment.

The Government also adopted the Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Protection from Noise in Environment, the Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Protection of Nature, and the Draft Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Waste Management.

The Decision on education of the Council for the development of insufficiently developed areas was also adopted at the meeting.
