The Center for Local Self-Government (Centar za lokalnu samoupravu – CLS) has warned that the deadline for the construction of the incinerator in Vinca has been extended by 100 days and that the company Beo Cista Energija, as a private partner of the City of Belgrade in waste treatment, will receive an “additional” EUR 8.27 million from the state budget.

CLS says that the agreement on the public-private partnership for the incinerator in Vinca is “extremely harmful” and that it will cost the people of Belgrade EUR 1.5 billion and warns that the new annexes “additionally worsen” the agreement.

– The entire project is entirely unclear and disputable, because the private partner is supposed to take out a loan and to then make a return during the exploitation of the incinerator, without the state and the city transferring money to them in advance – the statement says.
