MK Group Developing Experts for Digitization of Agriculture – First Digital Academy Cycle Completed
In the nine months of the Digital Academy, the most talented experts from the MK Group system had the opportunity to learn, through 9 modules, about the most modern technology in agriculture, to use flying drones, but also to upgrade their agronomic knowledge and managerial skills through the training for the management of projects, business processes and financial management. At practical workshops, the attendees improved their skills in using the programs that a digital agronomist needs, such as the use of unmanned tractors, as well as the monitoring of the crops with the help of satellites, through the projected growth, development and yield.
– As regional leaders in agriculture, we recognize the importance and the potential of the digitization of that segment. In order to successfully carry out the automation and robotization of the processes, we believe that it is crucial to educate and develop the knowledge and skills of our employees, they are the true carriers of digitization. With that intention, last year, we launched the first cycle of the Digital Academy. A year later, it is our pleasure that we have talked to the first-generation attendees about their ideas and initiatives for the improvement of agriculture and that we will implement some of them – stated Milos Mijovic, the director of MK Agriculture.
The Board of Directors of MK Group rated the work of Milena Mrkajic of MK Agropanonija as the best at this year’s Digital Academy.
– It is a great pleasure to be the best digital agronomist of MK Group, especially in the year when the digitization has shown its full importance. My idea to use laser robots in precision agriculture might drastically change the agrarian sector, but also make for great savings. I will also note that this model of suppressing the weeds is an excellent solution when it comes to environmental protection – said Milena Mrkajic, the head technologist for plant protection at MK Agropanonija.
The Digital Academy aims to develop talents, raise the capacity of employees and constantly educate the staff, and the first year’s finalists came from the companies Sunoko, MK Agropanonija, PIK Becej and Agrounija. The next generation of Digital Agronomists will start their further development in October 2022.
– The use of innovative and digital tools has become an imperative and companies which have not yet recognized this will not be able to adapt to the increasingly dynamic market game in the long term. That explains the long-term orientation of MK Group toward investing in our most important resource – our people, who are truly the carriers of the further growth and development. This way, we continuously develop our colleagues, because we are aware that, by investing in the employees, we are creating a motivating, positive atmosphere inside the organization. When the talents with such skills remain part of the team, their contribution is immeasurable – stated Marina Rakic, the director of the HR sector of MK Group.
MK Group is a leading investment group in Southeast Europe, under whose management over 70 companies operate in the fields of agriculture and food production, banking, services, real estate and renewable energy. The Group employs more than 6,000 people from the entire Adriatic region.
