Municipality of Sjenica exports 600 tons of beef to Turkey

Municipality of Sjenica and Turkish Fish and Meat Import Agency have signed the agreement on export of 600 tons of beef to Turkey. Serbian Minister of Labor and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic said that the export of meat from Pester to Turkey would start the next week.

- Every second day during next two months a cold storage plant loaded will be transporting meat from Serbia to Turkey - he said and assessed that it was the beginning of a long-term cooperation since Turkey's needs for beef were huge.

Ljajic said that the agreement on export of meat from Sjenica was the realization of the deal agreed during the visit of Turkish President Redzep Tajip Erdogan and Serbian President Boris Tadic to Novi Pazar one month earlier.

The export agreement was signed by the Bekir Ulubas, the Director of the Turkish Fish and Meat Import Agency, and Muriz Turkovic, the Mayor of Sjenica.
