New Investment Plan of Ministry of Mining and Energy Worth EUR 17 Billion to be Presented in September

The investment plan of the Ministry of Mining and Energy which will be presented in September entails projects worth EUR 17 billion, announced minister Zorana Mihajlovic.

– We expect the first big investments to start being realized in 2022. There’s the construction of large HPPs, like Djerdap 3 and Bistrica, as well as solar, gas and wind power plants. All this will contribute to the stability of the energy system. We are making the program for getting as many RES capacities in the next 20, 30 years as possible, because it is a question of the competitiveness of the economy – the minister said.

– If we don’t turn to green energy, we will have to pay large fees, which will affect the economy and the citizens. Step by step, we are moving toward that as a society and an economy – Mihajlovic added, according to the announcement published on the ministry’s website.
