The Government of Serbia announced yesterday that the additional vaccine those, the third (booster) one, against Covid-19 was to start being administered in Serbia on August 17.

All the vaccinated citizens will be able to take the third (booster) dose 180 days from the second one, and citizens will be invited by text messages and emails with a link leading to the eUprava portal, where they will get more detailed information.

There, they will be able to see whether they belong to the categories who are recommended to take the third dose. Regardless of whether they belong to those categories, everyone can take an additional dose if they want to, upon the expiration of a six-month period from the second dose and following an invitation by eUprava.

Citizens are not supposed to apply themselves before they are contacted by eUprava, the government says.

All citizens can choose the brand of the vaccine as long as it is safe and possible to take an additional dose different from the first two, whereby the final choice should be presented by each citizen to the doctor during the examination and consultations at the vaccination spot.

We remind that there are four vaccines available in Serbia at the time, all in sufficient quantities – Sinopharm, Sputnik V, Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca.

The additional, third (booster) dose of the vaccine is especially recommended to the following categories:

– people with compromised immunity – immunodeficiencies and states of immunosuppression, receivers of bone marrow and solid organ transplants, people on hemodialysis and people who live with primary or secondary immunosuppressed patients,

– people over 70,

– people over 60 who spend time regularly at elderly care centers and other social protection institutions,

– employees at health institutions and social protection institutions,

– travelers in international traffic – citizens of Serbia who often travel abroad, whether on business or for private reasons.

Upon getting an invitation from eUprava, the citizens will be able to get vaccinated at all health centers throughout Serbia, whereas, in Belgrade, in addition to health centers, there will be a spot for the third dose at Hall 11 of the Belgrade Fairgrounds, and the list of locations will be available at the eUprava portal.
