The American multinational company ADM has signed the sales and purchase agreement with Victoria Group on the acquisition of its company Sojaprotein from Becej, and the completion of the transaction is expected upon the approval by the regulatory bodies.
The great interest of foreign investors in the past period, which should result in the arrival of the world giant ADM to Becej, followed the new investments in Sojaprotein’s production, excellent business results and presence in the foreign markets in the past two years, the company announces.
– ADM offers the best solutions for the food industry in line with the requests of modern consumers and the care for their diet and health. We are pioneers in the segment of plant-based proteins and that is one of the key fields in which we are developing continuously and intensively and in which we are the first choice for our clients worldwide. The products of Sojaprotein with high-value soy proteins, whose quality has been recognized by a wide network of clients in Europe and outside it, fits perfectly into our portfolio. Combined with our wide range of components and solutions for food and animal feed, the international experience of our team, the global supply chain and the innovative technologies, we believe in the further expansion and an even better positioning of products made from Serbian non-GMO soy worldwide – said Leticia Goncalves, the president of ADM for Global Foods.
Products made from Serbian soy will now be available to new clients in the global market, and the company will present its even richer offer in the markets of over 60 countries to which it has been exporting for years, stated Stefan Babovic, the director of operations at Victoria Group.
– The arrival of the world-renowned strategic investor, with a tradition of 120 years and a global value chain, from the farms to the shelves in retail stores, is proof of our company’s success and sustainable model, but also a great compliment for Serbia and our agricultural-food sector. We are proud that ADM has recognized the human and capital resources that Sojaprotein has and which it can count on in its further expansion in the market in this segment – Babovic said.
Since its founding in 1977, Sojaprotein has been processing genetically unmodified soy exclusively.
