Water market in Serbia - Knjaz Milos weaker, Voda Vrnjci stronger
Bottled water market was stagnating during the first six months of this year since total of 2.96 million hectoliters of water were sold in that period, which is 1.2% less than in the same period last year.
The leader in the bottled water market is still Knjaz Miloš, but this company is gradually losing domination and its market share dropped from 50% to 27.2% in the first half of the year. This water bottling factory registered 8.7% smaller sales in June, while the sales in the first half of the year dropped by 1.6%. Novi Sad-based Minaqua registered 7% larger sales in June, but, in spite of that, its sales dropped by 2.6% since the beginning of the year, so that the company's market share at the end of June amounted to about 20%.
This year again, the growth leader in the water market is Voda Vrnjci in Vrnjacka Banja, of which sales growth in June amounted to 25%, while its total sales growth from the beginning of the year reached 12%. This water bottling factory is the third largest company in the water market with the share of nearly 19%.
Other big water manufacturers in the market are Vlasinska Rosa, owned by Coca-Cola, which holds about 10% of the market. After several years of declining sales, Bujanovac-based Heba has finally stabilized its operations and it now holds 6.5% of the market in Serbia. Prolom water, bottled by Kuršumlija- based Planinka, still has the market share of about 5%, and it reported strong growth of sales in June of 17.2%. All other water bottling companies have individual market share smaller than 2%, but we should also mention the expansion of Mivela, which operates under the control of Croatian Agrokor, since it reported the growth rate of 136% and reached the market share of 1%.Most Important News
