The plan is to start building five new outdoor pools in Belgrade next year, as announced by the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic.

– This will be the first time in over fifty years that Belgrade is getting new pools. One will be in Borca, another next to the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, there will be one in Juzni Blvd in Vracar, in Zemun and in Lazarevac. That’s when we will be able to talk with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development about introducing swimming as a mandatory subject in elementary school, because there are plenty of children who can’t swim, leading to tragic events – he pointed out while visiting the outdoor pools at the Sports Center Vozdovac in Banjica, whose reconstruction has just been completed.
