Torlak Building New Cold Room for Vaccine Storage
According to the technical documentation, Torlak is planning a full reconstruction of the space where the existing doors and windows will be removed, the floors will be fully replaced and a special door will be installed so that a new cold room would be set up. After the rough construction works, cooling devices are to be installed, which will maintain the temperature at minus 20 degrees.
The cold room serves as vaccine storage connected with a control room. Various types of immunization devices are stored at different temperatures. The temperature must not drop at any moment. If this happens due to unforeseen technical problems, an alarm sounds off immediately.
Let us remind that the production of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccines started at Torlak on June 4, 2021. Among other things, the institute also produces polyvalent flu vaccines.
The value of the project of the installation of the new cold room at Torlak is slightly over RSD 15 million, and all the necessary technical details regarding the realization of the works may be viewed HERE.
