The new athletic stadium in Pozarevac, which will be constructed in two years time, will be available not only to professional athletes, but also to all recreational sportsmen. The goal is to relieve the existing city hippodrome, because for now there is no appropriate infrastructure for practicing sports activities.
The contract stipulating the donation of the construction project of the athletic stadium was signed by the mayor of the City of Pozarevac, Sasa Pavlovic, and the director of the Serbian Athletic Association, Slobodan Brankovic. The value of the project is estimated at around RSD 2 million, and the obligation of the local government is to build an athletic stadium in two years time, the City Administration of Pozarevac announced.
The mayor of Pozarevac pointed out that he was very pleased that this contract was signed, through which the city received a valuable donation. He added that not only Pozarevac, but also the entire Branicevo district will benefit from this facility:
- The conditions that will prevail here after the construction of the stadium for our great athletes will finally be worthy of the results they are already achieving, even without an athletics track. Although someone might think that this project is arriving with a delay, we did not want to create average conditions in a hurry, but to be one step closer to the intention to make Pozarevac one of the athletic centers of Serbia in the future, with this stadium. The value of the donated project is around RSD 2 million, and the obligation of the city is to build an athletic stadium within 2 years. The project will show how much the construction of the entire complex, intended for all athletic disciplines, will cost. In the first stage, the track itself will be used for national competitions. The construction of this facility is a continuation of the improvement of sports complexes and infrastructure in Pozarevac. I don't need to remind you that the construction of the athletic stadium will relieve the hippodrome - said Sasa Pavlovic.
