The creation of a cultural-tourist route, which will connect Viminacium, the Ram Fortress and the Golubac Fortress is being planned, due to which the priority is to set up a terminal in Ram as soon as possible, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications announced.

– The project for which the competent Ministry of Tourism set aside RSD 23 million will further contribute to the attractiveness of this location and enable access to the destination from the Danube – emphasized minister Tatjana Matic.

According to her, the Municipality of Veliko Gradiste has considerable tourist potentials, which can attract passengers, not just from the region in which it is known, but from the whole Europe and remote destinations.

While visiting the Ram Fortress, the Silver Lake and other locations in that municipality, Matic, with the president of the municipality, Dragan Milic, and other representatives of the local self-government, reminded that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications had set aside a total of RSD 179.6 million for tourism development projects in Veliko Gradiste between 2015 and 2021.

– The fact that, even during the pandemic, last year, there was a considerable inflow of tourists, as many as 800 thousand, to this municipality, also shows how much we have to continue upgrading this destination – the minister said.

She also said that the ministry had helped the construction of the Basketball Camp and the Sports Hall at the Silver Lake and added that the lake itself needed to be developed.

According to her, investments in this location stimulate the development of sports and nautical tourism, which are among the priority strategic goals.

– The Gorica hill next to the Danube is also important for the development of sports tourism, and the potentials of religious tourism need to be taken into consideration too, since the Nimnik Monastery is attracting numerous religious people and other visitors as a cultural monument – Matic noted.
