This month, the members of the National Assembly of Serbia will vote on the Draft Law on the Subway and the City Railway, stated the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic.

– This is the first time that Serbia will regulate the existence of the subway by law. All the conditions for the beginning of the construction of the subway system will thereby meet. Egis is preparing the design and we are ahead of the signing of the agreement on the designing of the second line and a preliminary design of the third line – Vesic said on TV Pink and announced that agreements with Alstom and Power China were to follow as well.

At the same time, he added, various types of rail cars will be put up for voting.

– The show room will be located in the city center, where details about the future subway will be on display. The most important thing is to start exploratory boring activities in the city center. A lot has already been done on the route of the first line and we are now entering the center, say, from the Republic Square on. What kind of a machine we will procure for the construction of the subway depends on this. On the route of the subway, especially around the stations, we are preparing a register of risks. The Court Experts Institute is visiting each building and determining the condition, and the Institute for the Protection of Monuments is doing the same in protected buildings. The measures of protection we will take while building the subway depend on this, as is done everywhere in the world – Vesic pointed out. The first line, Vesic reminded, is planned to be completed in 2028, and the second in 2030, Beoinfo reports.
