TODORIĆ: Serbia is better for investments than Croatia
(Ivica Todorić)
Ivica Todorić, the owner of Croatian company Agrokor, stated that Serbia offered much more investment opportunities than Croatia.
Serbia "has great conditions for production, export and competitiveness of agriculture and food industry, and that is why our strategic decision is to invest significant funds in our companies in Serbia", he told Belgrade's daily newspaper Press.
The owner of the biggest private company in Croatia pointed out that he could collaborate with Serbian companies in an expansion to the market of the European Union.
When asked if there is a possibility that his company starts conquering the market of the European Union together with Delta, Todorić said that he would "accept such opportunity" and emphasized that his company Agrokor and Miroslav Mišković's Delta collaborated very well.
Ivica Todorić entered Serbia in 2003 by taking over Frikom, through which it also became the owner of water bottling factory Mivela. He also owns Idea market chain, Dijamant oil factories, a mill company, and a small share in Swisslion Takovo in Serbia.
Last week he opened a cattle fattening farm with the annual capacity of 2,000 heads of cattle in Futog and a purchase center for fruits and vegetables in Begeč where he plans to buy about 25,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables during the first year, Press writes.
According to Todorić, Agrokor's annual turnover through companies in Serbia amounts to 600 million euros, 40m of which is the value of export.
- We have about 7,000 employees and we want to hire additional workers because we plan to open another two farms and two purchase centers - said Ivica Todorić.
