Podgorica has opened a public contest for the selection of the tenants of the business zones and the awarding of the parcels for the construction of facilities in the business zones. Future investors are provided with ten business zones whose land is owned by Podgorica, taking up 3,328,000 m2, from Tuski Put to the turning toward the Golubovci airport.
– Ten business zones will thereby be put into operation, which will further contribute to the financial development, not just of Podgorica, but of Montenegro as well. We believe that numerous new investments will secure a bigger income for the city and the state budget and better jobs – the City of Podgorica announced.
Exemptions such as: the lease of land for up to 30 years, with an annual rent of 0.01 euros per square meter, the possibility of the purchase of land at the estimated value with the possibility of repayment in 60 monthly installments, a reduced fee for utility equipping and an exemption from the payment of the fee for the use of municipal roads for a period of 10 years are envisaged for the tenants of the business zones.
The business zones are planned for the following activities: agriculture and agri-industry, manufacturing and wood industry, professional and technical activities, exhibition and sales salons and storage, parking and garages, as well as hospitality and accommodation.
– All the business entities which apply for the lease of land for up to 30 years will be graded based on the set criteria, which entail: the planned number of new employees, the value of the investment, the deadline of the realization of the investment, as well as environmental protection. The capital of Montenegro is primarily concerned with the protection of the public interests and, based on these criteria, it will choose credible partners, so companies which are not financially stable will not be able to take part in the public invitation, and those that do not meet their obligations toward the state or have been convicted of criminal activities in their field will also not be able to take part – the City of Podgorica points out.
Applications may be submitted 60 days from the date of the publication of this invitation on the website of the City of Podgorica. Applying entails that the City of Podgorica archive receives the application physically. Upon the receipt of the application, a confirmation is issued which marks the date and the time of the receipt of the application. Untimely and incomplete applications will not be considered.
The public opening of the bids will be held on July 7, 2021, at 10 AM, at the premises of the City of Podgorica, and the pertinent decision will be adopted within 15 days of the date of the defining of the final ranking list.
