A delegation of the Government of North Macedonia, led by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, will sign an agreement this May in Athens with the Greek side on the beginning of the construction of the gas interconnection between the two countries, Macedonian Economy Minister Kresnik Bektesi announced, as reported by the ANA agency.

Last month, the Macedonian government announced that it had considered and approved the harmonized contents of the agreement on the construction of the gas interconnection between Greece and North Macedonia and authorized the economy minister to sign the agreement with the Greek government.

The interconnective pipeline for the transport of natural gas from Greece to North Macedonia will go from Nea Mesimvria in the Thessaloniki area to the Macedonian town of Stip, the information adds.
