Turkish Acibadem to buy Bel Medic?

As Blic has learned unofficially, The Turkish healthcare group Acibadem, which has over 22,000 employees, is to buy the Serbian private clinic Bel Medic.

In the upcoming period, the Turkish company plans a further development of the business and an upgrade of its services in Serbia, according to the sources of Blic.

Bel Medic declined to comment. They only told Blic that there were certain negotiations, but that no agreement had been reached at that moment.

Bel Medic is a private healthcare system which has existed for 25 years now and which has over 450 permanent employees and around 400 specialists. It operates in five locations in Belgrade, offering medical services – medical checks, diagnostics, surgical procedures, hospital treatment, dentistry services, systematic health checks, laboratory services, house visits and round-the-clock patient transport.


The Turkish Acibadem Health Group was founded as a district hospital in 1991 and has since grown into a whole healthcare system. It provides health protection services with close to 22,500 employees, including 3,500 medical doctors and 4,500 medical nurses, in 21 hospitals and 13 medical centers.

Acibadem offers diagnostics and treatment services in line with the requirements of the JCI accreditation and certified healthcare standards in hospitals.
