The state will not make a single step in the realization of the Jadar project without complying with the procedures of environmental protection, no matter how important this project is, Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic stated in Loznica.

During her visit to Loznica, she talked to the mayor of Loznica, Vidoje Petrovic, and the head of the Macva Administrative District, Vladan Krasavac, about the future jadarite mine and the further construction of the power network for the purposes of the local populace and future investors.

– The Jadar Project was the most important item discussed at the meeting, as it will have an impact on the whole Europe. This location contains 10% of the world’s lithium reserves, which is an enormous resource, but nothing will be done unless each decision and procedure pertaining to environmental protection is complied with – minister Mihajlovic stated after the meeting.

She announced that a team would be formed, consisting of representatives of the ministry and the local self-government, which would consider all the questions related to the project on a daily basis, to the end of having the residents truthfully informed about everything and preventing the spreading of misinformation.
