On March 1, 2021, Energetika Kragujevac became the operator of the first closed distribution system in Serbia. The company has announced that the closed distribution system was formed and that it functions according to clear, transparent and non-discriminatory principles for a safe, economic and reliable work and access.

– A total of 23 consumers are supplied from the closed distribution system, and, for now, all the consumers are getting electricity from two suppliers. The planned amount of electricity that should flow within the closed distribution system in the period of one year is around 40,000 MWh – the company says.

An integrated method of measuring the consumption of electricity has been enabled for all the consumers which get electricity within the closed distribution system, so each consumer has a detailed insight into the structure of their consumption.

– Considering that these are mostly industrial consumers, this way of registering enables them to better manage their consumption, that is, the costs related to electrical energy – it is said.
