Law on Loan from German KfW Bank for Reconstruction of VMA Building Adopted – Energy Efficiency Worth EUR 50 Million

The National Assembly of Serbia has adopted two laws concerning the energy sector and the increase of energy efficiency, one of which envisages a loan of EUR 50 million for the improvement of the energy efficiency system in the Military-Medical Academy (Vojnomedicinska akademija – VMA) building in Belgrade.

The Law on Confirming the Loan Agreement Between KfW and the Republic of Serbia for the Project of Energy Efficiency in Public Purpose Buildings and Renewable Energy Sources in Remote Heating Sector – Making the Public Sector Greener was adopted.

The value of the agreement is EUR 50 million, and the money will be used to improve the system of energy efficiency of the VMA building in Belgrade.


The MPs also adopted the Law on Providing a Guarantee by the Republic of Serbia to the Benefit of the German Development Bank KfW as per the Debt of the JSC Elektromreza Srbije, which envisages a guarantee for the amount of EUR 40 million concerning the obligations within the Agreement on the Loan for the Implementation of the Regional Program of Energy Efficiency in the Transmission System II.
