The Group for Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy of the National Assembly of Serbia today adopted a three-month report on the operations of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, and minister Zorana Mihajlovic said that fundamental changes were being planned in the field of energy.

Along with the report, Mihajlovic presented the plans for mining and energy in the next few months.

– We are looking at fundamental changes in the field of energy, along with the environment – said Mihajlovic, who also presented to the group four draft laws prepared by the ministry.

She believes that those draft laws will be discussed at the next week’s session of the Government of Serbia and that they will enter the parliamentary procedure following that.

– We will also talk about structural changes within public companies. Without them, we can’t expect the GDP to grow, nor the expansion that we want to see in energy and mining. We will also talk about the investment plan – Mihajlovic said.

Mihajlovic says that the aim of the changes initiated by the ministry in the energy sector is for Serbia to have energy of high quality and for more energy to be derived from renewable sources, so that we could talk about green energy and green Serbia by 2050.
