The Provincial Government will help the municipal administration in Vrbas to complete the construction of the Cultural Center by providing RSD 100 million in the first phase. With a modern theater hall, the citizens of Vrbas will also get a new city center, because money for the reconstruction of the central Nikola Pasic Square has been approved as well, the municipal administration of Vrbas announced.

The project will be financed through the Capital Investment Department of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The works on the completion of the Cultural Center and the development of the city square will begin this spring, upon the completion of the public procurement procedure and the selection of the contractor.

– The remarkable degree of support and the cooperation we have with the Provincial Government has been confirmed once again. To citizens of Vrbas, the completion of the construction of the Cultural Center is one of the most important projects. Unfortunately, we had to wait 30 years for it. The citizens of Vrbas, Ravno Selo, Savino Selo, Zmajevo, Kucura and Backo Dobro Polje deserve to have cultural features adequate to the modern society and the modern man, without having to travel to Novi Sad or even Belgrade to attend a theater play performance – said Predrag Rojevic, the president of the municipality of Vrbas.

In late January, the Capital Investment Department secured RSD 160 million for the construction of the Cultural Center in Ravno Selo, which was destroyed in a fire in 2016.

– This will be a year of culture for the municipality of Vrbas, but also a year of big investments. We have set aside RSD 1.5 billion for investments in the territory of the municipality this year – Rojevic said.
