Number of Covid-absent Workers in Companies throughout Serbia Reducing
Of the total of 383,928 employees in the surveyed companies, the number of those absent due to coronavirus is 12,625, that is, 3.29%, which is a drop compared to 13,057 workers, amounting to 3.40%, from last week, the CCIS announced.
The latest data, from February 3, show that the upward trend when it comes to the epidemiology situation in the economy has continued, says Bojan Stanic, assistant director of the Sector for Strategic Analyses, Services and Internationalization at the CCIS.
– This is the seventh week in which a drop is recorded in the share of Covid-absent workers relative to the total number of workers in the surveyed companies. The CCIS invites companies to keep complying with the measures against the spreading of the virus, so that the trend of the reduction of the number of infected workers would continue – Stanic says. Observed by employment structure, the biggest share of Covid-absent workers is recorded in companies with “up to 100 employees” (5.56%), whereas large companies are below 3% on average.
The largest number of Covid-absent workers is recorded in the regions of Uzice (7.06%), Novi Sad (5.02%) and Pancevo (4.08%). Observed by sectors, the creative industry is still the most affected (6.52%), whereas the lowest number of Covid-absent workers is recorded in the fields of energy and mining (1.98%).
