Italian Company Zoppas Planning to Expand Production in Kikinda and Employ Another 300 Workers

– The safety of our workers is now considerably increased. The city authorities have helped us many times with all the regulations and the administrative obstacles that appeared. We plan to increase the number of workers and to have 1,000 employees, because we want to upgrade our business in Serbia and your city. Our Romanian facility employs 120 workers from Kikinda, and there will be another 200 by the end of February – said Enache, as announced on the city’s website.
This year, a line will be moved from Romania to the facility in Kikinda, creating the conditions for new production activities in Kikinda, said the mayor, Nikola Lukac. He pointed out that Zoppas would still have a secure partner in the local self-government.
– They are constantly upgrading the production, increasing the number of employees, and their corporate responsibility deserves nothing but praise. In the past few years, thanks to the efficient administration, the investors have quickly obtained all the necessary permits. The same goes for Zoppas – Lukac said.
A member of the city council for economy and investments, Sasa Tanackov, pointed out that the arrival of Zoppas marked a real boost for the economy of Kikinda.
– From the initial twenty employees, this factory now has slightly over 700. Another 120 of our fellow citizens work at their facility in Romania. This means that Zoppas is one of the largest employers in Kikinda and that it has pushed the economic boundaries. We will remain a reliable partner to them – Tanackov said.
