Nearly 6,000 Companies Blocked in Serbia Based on Foreclosure Since Introduction of State of Emergency
The total amount of the blockings in this period in 2020 was around RSD 11 billion, and the total number of employees in the blocked companies was 13,249.
Micro and small enterprises were the most affected, with 3,793 being blocked. There are as many as 9,892 employees in these companies, and the companies were blocked for a total amount of nearly EUR 50 million.
Since the introduction of the state of emergency, most legal entities were blocked in the Municipality of New Belgrade (308), followed by Novi Sad (303).
The most affected sector were restaurants and mobile hospitality facilities, with 477 legal entities blocked for a total amount of close to RSD 123 million and 936 employees.
Non-specialized wholesale comes next, whereas the third spot on the list of the most affected sectors belongs to catering.
