The Pandemic and the Industry of Material Handling Equipment

The pandemic’s influence on total traffic in the industry of material handling equipment was up to 5%, Petar Gligorijevic, the director of sales and marketing of the Trasing company, a leader in this industry, says for eKapija.

– One of the reasons for such an outcome was the fear of the investors who were, occasionally, suspending the investments. The other reason was the difficulty of crossing the Serbian borders. The effect on the demand was negligible – says Gligorijevic.

However, Gligorijevic adds that, on a global level, the influence of pandemic was in some way positive for the industry of material handling equipment, as well as for the sectors the Trasing cooperates with. The reason is that the people are moving less and buying more online, which increases the activities and the demand for storage logistics equipment.

Among the items that Trasing proudly presents, the systems for the transport of euro pallets stand out for their wide usage and high demand.

Regarding the expectations from 2021, Gligorijevic thinks that the overall situation is unpredictable, but that the formula for overcoming the situation is to have good relations with the clients.

– If your clients perceive you as a serious and stable company, it is highly likely that, even in the conditions of reduced demand, your business will remain stable – our interviewee says.
