Panoramic Gondola on Zlatibor Opens – A 25 Minute Ride to Tornik
This was announced by the municipality’s president, Milan Stamatovic, on his official profile.
The director of the PE Gold Gondola, Bojana Bozanic, told Tanjug that the beginning of the gondola’s operations marked a new era of tourism on the Zlatibor mountain.
– In the next 7 to 10 years, we expect to realize 10 million overnight stays and bring a million tourists a year to Zlatibor thanks to the gondola. The gondola will also enable the realization of new projects along its route, which will make the tourist offer more complete thanks to various commercial features – Bozanic said.
She points out that the Zlatibor gondola is the longest panoramic gondola in the world and that a ride down the 9-km route takes around 25 minutes in one direction.
– From Monday, the gondola will work between 8.30 am and 3 pm during the winter season. During the first ten days, the operations of the gondola will be overseen by the workers of the French company Poma, which provided the equipment. All the works have been brought to a close, the exploitation permit has been obtained, we have employed a sufficient number of workers through the agency, so tourists can safely enjoy getting to know Zlatibor from a different perspective from Monday – Bozanic said.
The price of a gondola ride from Zlatibor to Tornik will be RSD 1,000 in both directions for adults and RSD 550 for children.
The construction of Gold Gondola cost the Municipality of Cajetina EUR 13 million, and the works began five years ago.
