Tourism was the most affected sector in 2020. We have talked with experts about the perspectives of the tourism sector in 2021: what their expectations are and weather they are preparing seasonal offers.

One of the managers of Explorer agency, Igor Begovic, thinks that touristic sector is not going to stop working due to pandemic.

According to him, the changes of the sale system are adopted as well as channels of communications with clients. He emphasizes that the parameters of the tourism industry show that people want to travel, which could be a good indicator of an overall improvement.

– We expect the real improvement to happen when the vaccine become widely available. Regarding Montenegro, the work of the sector will depend on the connection with other countries and a number of air flights, because we are counting on tourists that traditionally come to Montenegro. We also expect that traveling procedures are not going to be the same as before – says Begovic.

The plan of Explorer agency is to work in the same manner as in 2020. Begovic warns that, regarding the improvement of the work, various company’s sectors will show different results.

– Restaurants at the Black Lake and the Biograd Lake will increase their profit with the coming spring, due to the arrival of regional and domestic guests. The adventure parks Lovcen and Podgorica (including the cafeterias within the complex) are going to improve their work. Regarding the traveling agency, we expect the improvement from mid-2021. Due to increase of the protection measures, the same situation is expected for other travel agencies – explains Begovic.

Explorer is planning to realize the promotional packages for the winter season. The offer will include driving of the snowmobile and lower ski-rent prices. For non-skiers, Explorer offers a snow-bike.

Regarding the offers for companies, Begovic points out that, within the MICE sector, Explorer Dmc provides offer for rafting fans and fans of the National Park Tara.

A new hotel is opening on the cost of the Tara, in the “Radovan Luka” location- the place of the former Yugoslav rafting hotel. The hotel has 4 stars and has been reconstructed by using the latest ecological standards, with a capacity of 25 units and 200 restaurant seats.

– The opening is planned for the beginning of May. Beside lodging, the guests will have the opportunity to taste cheese, dairy cream and meat from Zabalj – says Begovic.
