MOMIROVIC: Tender for procurement of fast trains for railway to Budapest to open soon

The problems regarding the foreign contractors on the project of the construction of the high-speed railway from Belgrade to Novi Sad have been solved and, as a priority project, it will be finished by the end of the year, stated Serbian Construction Minister Tomislav Momirovic, emphasizing that fast trains would also be procured at a tender until that time.

When asked to specify who the 200 km/h trains are to be procured from, the minister says that it depends on the tender.

– We will also sign a memorandum with our Chinese partners very soon, but what is important to us is for those trains to meet the European standards and to match the best quality trains from the European railways. It must be done by the end of the year – Momirovic said while visiting the works on the high-speed railway near Zemun Polje.
