Export of Wheat Equals 260,000 Tons – Stock Amounts to 1.7 Million Tons
He says that, of the 3.6 million tons, last year’s harvest amounted to around 2.9 million tons, the amount produced in 2020 according to the September assessment of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, with an average yield of 5,042 kilograms per hectare.
The most was exported to Romania (143,922 tons), Macedonia (36,147) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (22,592 tons).
– It would be good for the exports to accelerate, because if the current tempo remained, with the average monthly export lower than last year, we would meet the next sowing season with a substantial stock – Gulan points out.
When it comes to the wheat from last year’s harvest, he says that, between July and November, 51,357 tons was exported. Countries from the region are first on the list here too, with 15,934 tons exported to Montenegro, 15,544 to Macedonia and 15,031 tons of flour exported to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
