CADEZ: Drop in sales around 50%, some people to lose jobs from January
– It means more work and income for the employees, but also more income for the state – Cadez said on TV Prva.
He says that the measure will enable companies to improve their balance at the end of the year, but that there will certainly be consequences of the measures that were in effect since December 3, which prevented traders from working during the weekends.
Cadez adds that the drop in sales will be known at the end of December, but that it is expected to be around 50%.
Still, there are sectors that are recording a growth, such as IT, as well as the pharmaceutical industry, by 8-10%, food trade, by 2.3-2.5%, he says.
Regarding the announcement that new measures are to be considered this Friday, pertaining to whether outlets and stores are open during the upcoming weekend, Cadez says that the CCIS has asked for them to be allowed to work, because this next weekend is especially important for companies when it comes to the income.
When asked what is to be done from January, because the measures which entail not laying off workers from the companies that are using the measures are expiring, Cadez said that some people will certainly lose their jobs.
He says that, in 2021, there will most probably be no possibility of repeating the kind of all-encompassing measures that were in effect this year, but he adds that some other measures, different and focused on those most vulnerable, are possible.
