While most investors in the Croatian tourism have backed off a bit due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the business uncertainty, a new luxury tourist settlement with a hotel, worth around EUR 80 million, is being raised in Savudrija, not far from the well known Hotel Kempinski and the nearby golf course.

This is the largest investment in Croatian tourism, one of the rare greenfield investments, as reported by the Croatian portal novac.hr. The new resort is to be named Petram and its construction began in mid-October.

The Savudrija-based company Cista Voda Projekt invests in this project and Vojislav Gajic, who leads the Novi Sad-based company Aleksandar Gradnja, active in construction and sale of real estate, is a co-investor.

Through over 25 years of doing business in the Serbian market, his company has become recognized for the construction of residential and office spaces, and their latest projects include residential and office complexes such as Kapija Vracara in Belgrade, Taurunum in Zemun, Aleksandar Bulevar Centar in Novi Sad and K District and The One in Belgrade.

Vojislav Gajic says that the resort will be ready for the 2022 season.

– This is an investment of around EUR 80 million, and we managed to complete all the documentation, including the construction permits, in only 10 months without any problem – Gajic said.

According to the project, an apartment hotel with 179 accommodation units, 55 luxury mansions and three residential buildings with 18 apartments are to be built on this land. All facilities will have four or five stars.

The resort will offer slightly under a thousand beds.

The roof of the apartment hotel will feature the longest infinity pool on the roof of any building in Europe and the second largest in the world, right behind the one on top of Hotel Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
